Everything that happens in the universe starts with intention. Intention is the creative energy that fulfills our needs and wants for our life. Intention is the way we live from our most authentic self. It’s not goal oriented or achievement based, its not about money or success in a career, even though those things come more easily in a life lived with intention. But intention is about an awareness of what you care about and value in life. Its about taking a step back and realizing your deepest desires for your life and focusing on them. Making decisions based on them. Calming your mind with them. What does joy mean to you? How do you want joy to appear in your life? If you were stripped of all your possessions, what would you be left with? Answering these questions can help you find intention and focus in your life. Where attention goes, energy flows. What you focus on in life is what the universe will give you more of, which means if you have a habit of focusing on your fears and frustrations, the universe will follow your lead and give you more of that energy. If you are constantly worrying about meeting deadlines at work, the universe will give you more anxiety about work. But if you are constantly focused on joy, and the things that bring you pure joy, the universe will lay a clear path of joy for you. So, learn to make a regular practice of recognizing your habits that do not serve you and reconnecting with what you truly desire. Focus on those desires and the meaning of joy for your life and joy will become more powerful and will guide more moments of your life. Things will flow more easily, stress and anxiety will fade and joy will be brought to the forefront on your life. Learning to step back and live each of your moments intentionally isn’t easy, but once you can discover who you truly are and what you truly want, you can live with an intention of joy and an intention to live on purpose. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Laugh. Play with abandon. Practice wellness. Continue to learn. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Lead or follow a leader. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is. -Mary Anne Radmacher
