The Vishuddha chakra is also known as the Throat chakra and is found at the base of our throat. It is the voice of our body, our expression center. It is where we hold all aspects of expressing and receiving. Expressing ourselves comes in either the communicative form or the artistic form. It relates to receiving as in manifesting what you want in your life; “ask and ye shall receive.” The Vishuddha chakra is also related to our inner truth and listening to our own intuition. Our intuition guides us to connect with and follow the Divine energy. When our Throat chakra is in balance and we are listening to our intuition, we see our goals manifest and abundance come into our lives. Both teaching and learning are affected by this chakra. This chakra is where our energy is transformed to our manifestations. It is where our creativity comes alive and is allowed to get out into the world. Our personal spirit is expressed. Physically the Throat chakra controls the throat, the neck, the arms and the hands. Common forms of self- expression involve the throat and neck (talking or singing) and the arms and the hands (writing, painting, sculpting). When this chakra is balanced we are open, creative, content, expressive, good listeners and engage in constructive communication. The Vishuddha chakra is associated with the color blue. In Hinduism the color blue encourages healthy communication. It is the color of truth, wisdom and inspiration and brings calm and peace.
