The Manipura chakra is the third primary chakra and is also known as the Solar Plexus Chakra. It is found at the navel and is the center of our personal power, where we have an understanding of our emotional self.
The Manipura chakra is where we find our sense of self and identity. It is who we are. It’s the center for clarity, self-confidence, wisdom and decision-making. This is also the chakra of movement and transformation. When in good balance, we are confident, supportive of our emotions and able to make good decisions. We are able to navigate life, facing challenges, adapting and moving forward.
This is also the center of our vitality and health. When the Manipura chakra is in tune, we radiate warmth and are better able to fend off illness.
The Solar Plexus chakra houses our digestive fire. Physically, it’s associated with the pancreas, adrenal glands, and other digestive organs, which create important hormones for proper digestion and convert food to energy. Since this chakra is also related to the sense of sight and movement, it is also associated with the eyes and feet.
The Manipura chakra is yellow, the color of fire and sun. It absorbs and assimilates energy from the sun and connects us to the universe. Like fire, it ignites our digestion and like the sun, it is the center of our radiance, our understanding of our true self.
