The Muladhara chakra is also known as the Root chakra and is found at the base of our spine. This chakra is the basis for our spiritual development. Just like the roots of trees, plants and flowers, the Root chakra keeps us grounded and connected to all Earth energies. It is the most instinctual chakra, our survival center. What we gain and nurture in our roots allows us to grow and blossom.
The Muladhara chakra is where we hide the unconscious. Once we are enlightened and illuminate it, our whole perspective of the world can change. It is our root to Prana. Our life force. It is also the chakra that governs our sensuality.
Physically the Root chakra stimulates the adrenal glands, legs, feet, bones, large intestine and teeth. Stimulating this chakra keeps us grounded, enhancing our feeling of stability.
When this chakra is awakened, it allows for good health and prosperity as well as safety and security.
The Muladhara chakra is is red, indicating strong, dense engery connected to Earth. Like the Earth, the Muladhara chakra is the mother that nourishes us. In it lies our wisdom and spiritual abilities.
